Maziar FEKRI

Maziar holds a background in Water Science and Engineering and obtained his Master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering through a joint program between KU Leuven and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. He joined the Department in 2025 as a PhD researcher under the supervision of Prof. dr. Marijke Huysmans, with Dr. Jef Dams and Dr. Azucena Rodriguez Yebra as co-supervisors.

His research focuses on integrating innovative methods and land–climate modelling approaches to enhance groundwater recharge estimation and assess related uncertainties in Flanders under climate change conditions.

This project is funded by the research foundation of Flanders, Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek (FWO).
